How to Play

  • Guess the answer in 6 tries or less
  • Each guess must be a valid 5-letter word
  • The squares update as you guess

  • F
    L
    A
    S
    H

    What the colours suggest:

  • F is not in the answer
  • L is not in the answer
  • A is in the answer, not the right place
  • S is in the answer, in the right place
  • H is not in the answer

  • Your keyboard will update to match the colours in the grid

The keys of a lighter grey colour are keys you have not tried yet

    Hints

At the top of your screen you will see the hint button, which looks like this:

When you click it, it will give you a little helping hand. It will update your keyboard to show a letter that is in the answer, but it will not show you where!

    Complex Cases

An example guess you might make:

    S
    H
    O
    E
    S

You might think that there was only one 'S' in the actual answer, and it is in position 1, and the second 'S' is not giving you any information.

The reality is, if a letter lights up more than once in your guess, then there are at least that many occurrences of the letter in the answer.

Lets take another guess for that same answer:

    S
    A
    S
    S
    Y

Here we see that the third 'S' does not light up and there must be exactly two occurences of 'S' in our answer!
